Tasmania's new real estate gun making records

Young mum Natalie Downton has just been crowned Tasmania’s top real estate agent - and she’s breaking down all the barriers. Natalie is not only the 1st woman to receive the prestigious accolade – The REIT Sales Person of the Year – but she is also one of the youngest at just 31 years old. The fact that Natalie set up her own agency, Downton Property in North Hobart, less than a year ago makes her achievement even more outstanding. This one woman dynamo, who is a mother to 3 year old Archie, and plays state level netball, now has a staff of 5 and is already breaking her own business targets selling almost 80 houses in the last year alone. “It has been a massive challenge, but I hope I can provide inspiration, especially for other young women, by proving if you have the drive and determination then anything is possible,” Natalie said. Natalie has been selling real estate since she was 21, and along the way became part of the LJ Hooker Multi-Millionare club, meaning she is in the top 7% of the companies sales team Australia Wide. The Real Estate Institute of Tasmania presented the award on Saturday night, which is judged on a wide variety of criteria, not just sales figures. “Natalie has also done an incredible job, setting up her own office, and building both her agency and personal profile in a very short time, ” R.E.I.T State President, Tony Collidge said.
